This fruit was important to the nation of ancient Israel. However the name of the fruit was not in the Bible. Though the name of the tree it grew was in the Bible often. What is this fruit?
The tree was the Date Palm. Of course the fruit was the date. Date Honey made from Dates would sweeten food. When God promised to take the Hebrews into a land flowing with Milk and honey in in Exodus 3:8 he meant Date Honey.

Jesus cursed a Fig tree in Jerusalem because it had no figs. As a result it died.

Aaron’s robe had a row of pomegranates embroidered around the hem of his robe. God also told Moses to add Golden bells to the hem of the robe.

Well fall in coming, that also means harvest time. However I did not get the gardening gene that runs in my family. Others grow it and I will eat the produce. That last time I tried gardening we could have bought organic food for the year in bags trimmed in gold leaf. It would have been cheaper than what we spent.
This week we are going to have questions on the foods in the Bible also called the seven species. These are foods mentioned in the Bible and held in high regard by the Jews. Therefore they were the only acceptable foods for offerings in the temple. No meats are here. Only fruits and grains.
