The Jewish leaders asked they to switch to Syrian (Aramaic) . The leaders understood the language but the common men did not so they would not be made fearful.

Originally mankind spoke a common language. Where did God change this and why?

God divided our languages at Babel because he was concerned about the power of a united mankind. Especially for evil. Learning other languages shows how well God confused things. There are not only different words but different grammar making translation difficult.

I’m going to remain busy most likely getting out the snowblower tomorrow morning before church. We are getting a bit of snow in the Chicago area this weekend.
