We are Abraham(Abram) and Sarah(Sarai). Since Sarah was beautiful they would go as brother and sister.  Otherwise other men might kill Abraham so they could take his wife. Indeed Sarah was Abraham’s step-sister.

Hello I did get a bit of rest this week as we had a snow day up here in Chicago. Things are going well.   But it’s just an average winter blizzard.  Indeed we just need to be careful.

It’s Valentines day this week therefore we are going to play guess the Bible married couple. I will describe a married couple from the Bible you then tell me who the man and woman are.

Slaves could be bought as wives for men or their sons. The slave would be treated as any other wife.  In addition a man could give his daughter to a slave as a wife.

Paul in his letter to the Corinthians advised slaves or servants to do this when they could.  What did he advise them to do?

He told them to gain their freedom. A slave could be freed for payment of money or  occasionally other circumstances.
