Formerly some people based the Bible justification for slavery on a curse. Given by one of the patriarchs to his son. Who was the patriarch?
Specifically the Patriarch was Noah. He cursed his son Ham for seeing him naked while Noah was drunk.
Genesis 9:20-27
In Paul’s letter to Philemon he is asking for Mercy also freedom for an escaped slave. What is the slaves name?
The slaves name was Onesimus. He escaped from his master possibly stealing or damaging something in the process. Also he had a lot of faith in Paul to return to his master with that letter. His master could have killed him for his actions.

Hello,
Well it’s been a busy week here obviously. I have had a busy week at work and important meetings to attend. Also my girlfriend the Sweetheart of Trivia had some difficulties this week we had to deal with. At least for now things are going along. My girlfriend is intensely private and would strongly dislike me putting her name out. Also I would appreciate her talking to me during the church luncheon tomorrow. Our relationship is Christian especially since we both live with other people. Thanks for the good wishes and concern, prayers are always welcome.
This week we are going to talk about chattel slavery in honor of Black History month. Slavery existed in the Bible but did not start there. It was a common practice in ancient times. But the Bible does have a few things to say about it. All peoples could become slaves consider the case of Joseph son of Jacob. Prisoners taken in war commonly became slaves. Also you could sell yourself or a family member to pay a debt. Today thank God, slavery is a crime.
The Google+ site is remains down. I am working on it.
