Hello,
Busy now with graduation season in full swing. It”s a busy year my girlfriend and I both have family graduating. We our going to a celebration for her family this week and then my family next week. We also had my old accompanist graduate to become a music teacher. Those kids, they keep getting older.
Sunday May 20th we celebrate Pentecost. For Christians this is when God gave the Holy Spirit to the church. The amazing thing is today all Christians have the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit lives within us and helps us on our journey of faith. That is an amazing gift. The Holy Spirit guides us on our journey and allows us to access the power of God in our lives. But it was not always that way. In the Old Testament most believers did not have the Holy Spirit. But when the Spirit did take possession it was much more forceful. We are going to look at a few examples of the Spirit working in the Old Testament this week.
Thanks for the comments and questions. I always enjoy them because it means people are reading.

In one other spot the New Testament names Jesus specifically as our advocate. Where is is that spot?
Specifically it is in the 1st Epistle of John Chapter 2 verse 1.
1st John 2:1
Jesus is a High Priest. But who appointed him to that office?
God the Father appointed Jesus to that office.
Hebrews 5:5
The Bible calls Jesus is a merciful High Priest. But why is that?
Because of his life on earth and his humanity. Jesus also faced temptation just as we have. He understands the strong pull of temptation.
Hebrews 2:16-18
Ok Jesus was a priest after the order of Melchizdek. But why couldn’t Jesus just be a Levitical priest of the order of Aaron?
Because God reserved the Levitical priesthood for Aaron and his sons forever. Aaron was of the tribe of Levi, Jesus was of the tribe of Judah.
Exodus 29:9-29
