Why those are the days of Elijah. We do not know for sure that he was a bachelor but tradition holds that. Also considering the events of his life and taking up to heaven someone should have informed his wife if he had one.

Well a down weekend here. It’s a bit snowy here in Chicago but my friend who does my yard work came over and cleaned my driveway. We have a barter arrangement and it works well. Sadly my roommate is not doing well and went into hospice care. Prayers are appreciated. I’m doing my best to spend time with him at the hospital sometimes just being near can help. But at this point there seems to be little that can be done by the medical personnel. Unless God has other plans, it looks like it’s time for him to cross the Jordan.
In honor of my friend a lifelong bachelor. We are going to do single men of the Bible this week. This is a bit of a tough topic to research as personal lives in ancient times were not really talked about so it can be difficult to determine whether someone is married or single. In a couple of cases I am relying on tradition but that will be explained in the answer

They were addressed to Theophilus. This may have been a real person. But it could be a salutation to believers. This is because the name Theophilus means friend of God.
