The Jews kept the serpent. King Hezekiah broke up the Serpent as the Jews were worshiping it.

The people of Israel complained many times during the 40 years in the wilderness. One time God was so angry he sent fiery serpents to bite the people. How did Moses save the people?
Moses saved the people by creating a serpent of brass which he put on a pole. People could look at the serpent on a pole and survive.

When Paul landed on Malta people thought he was a murderer and then a God. What prompted them to think that?
When Paul landed after the shipwreck he help build a fire. A venomous snake bit him. The people thought it was justice catching up with him. When he had no ill effects they though he was a God.

It well it looks like spring is coming and I can put the snow shovels up for another year. Also we are getting ready to celebrate St Patrick’s day. I live in the Chicago area, also I’m dating a Celtic woman so yes indeed we celebrate.
One of the Legends of St. Patrick is that he drove the snakes out of Ireland. Though it is disputed. This week we are going to talk about snakes/serpents in the Bible Just remember BYOS (Bring Your Own Serpent) 🙂

Almost nothing is known about him but he is in the Bible? Who was Tertius?
Tertius was the amanuensis or scribe who actually wrote the Letter to the Romans. Paul generally dictated his letters. Also he wrote a little in his own hand at the end of each letter to indicate it was from him.
