Why did Paul recommend against eating meat offered to idols?

While it is not a sin itself. Eating of meat offered to idols could cause confusion with other Christians and make them sin. This we are to avoid at all costs.

Happy Valentines day to all. Another busy week I’m looking forward to finding some leisure in retirement somewhere. But for now nothing. It’s still pretty busy. Anyhow I’m going to watch a bit of TV tonight.
